I love shooting photography for in-town Atlanta weddings, and Michelle and Adrian’s big day was no exception. The wedding took place at Michelle’s mother’s home in East Point, which is just a hop, skip, and a jump from my home studio in Cabbagetown.
The couple was married in a gorgeous backyard ceremony that was chock full of family, friends, and love. The sun was out (for once this spring) and the food was homemade and amazing!
The bride and groom elected to get ready without my camera in their mutual rooms, so I took time at the start of the day to shoot some images of the food prep, the setup, and the pre-ceremony socializing.
What really struck me about this wedding, was that the people who organized and set up the venue were actually the people (family and friends) who were attending the wedding. This was a unique and beautiful touch. Although I would really not consider Michelle and Adrian’s wedding to be particularly small (I’ve shot some really small weddings!), the cooking, the baking, the hanging of the flowers, the setting of the tables, etc etc being done by family and friends brought an extra quality of warmth and intimacy to the day.
