When curating a blog of wedding photos, I try to keep the total image count under one hundred. I figure that most of the photo enthusiasts that follow this blog don’t have a whole afternoon to look over my latest work. In any case, Shereen and Owen’s wedding photos were pretty difficult to pare down to just a handful of shots. I mean, with two ceremonies, some of the most beautiful flowers and table decorations that I’ve seen at a wedding to date, and multiple tearjerking speeches, it wasn’t easy to tell the story of the day without going over my self-imposed blog photo limit.
Even with what I am posting below, I feel like I am just dipping my toe into the vast ocean of beautiful images from this wedding. Yes, there were great colors, great lighting, and a gorgeous venue, but better than that, everyone seemed so genuinely happy and warm! I mean, I don’t think I’ve ever posted a wedding blog with so many hugs!
And I am pleased to say that the fourth wall broke down, and the warmth extended to me! With a traditional Indian ceremony, followed by a traditional Western ceremony, and family and friends in from all over, there was a lot going on throughout this wedding day… which is why it was so nice that I was thanked by Shereen’s mother, in front of the entire wedding reception, no less! This was actually the first time that I have ever been recognized at a wedding, and I was touched, to say the least. After photographing so many weddings, it’s rare that I am surprised at anything, so while the kindness and gratitude was kind of a shocker, it was a really nice gesture that I will not soon forget.
